Capability 01 / 06
Salesforce architecture that holds up past the pilot.
Revenue Cloud, CPQ and billing are where CRM projects quietly go wrong: a product catalog nobody can maintain, pricing logic scattered across flows, quotes that disagree with invoices. We design the data model, quoting and revenue orchestration so the system you paid for keeps working as the business changes.
Sound familiar
Where this usually starts.
Quotes take days because pricing lives in spreadsheets, not the system.
Every new product or bundle needs a developer — the catalog wasn't designed to grow.
Sales, finance and billing each keep their own version of the same customer.
The org has years of customization and nobody is sure what's safe to change.
Deliverables
What we deliver.
- Platform selection & CRM strategy
- Whether Salesforce, which clouds, and in what order — tied to how you actually sell, not to a feature checklist.
- Product catalog, pricing & quoting design
- Bundles, options, discount schedules and approval rules modeled so admins can maintain the catalog instead of developers rebuilding it.
- Revenue orchestration & billing models
- Quote-to-cash across Revenue Cloud and billing, including amendments, renewals and usage — the places most implementations break.
- Data model & governance frameworks
- Object model, record ownership, duplicate rules and field governance, documented so the next team inherits a design rather than an accident.
- Sandbox, environment & DevOps design
- Environment strategy, source control and release paths, so changes reach production on purpose.
Engagement
How the engagement runs.
- 01
Scope
A review of your current org, catalog and quote-to-cash path, ending in a written scope with fixed deliverables and price.
- 02
Architect
Data model, catalog structure and pricing logic designed and reviewed on paper before any configuration starts.
- 03
Build
Configuration and code delivered in milestones, each demonstrated against real quoting scenarios from your sales team.
- 04
Maximum
Handover documentation your admins can operate — or ongoing support on a retainer.
Questions
Asked before we start.
- Do you work with Revenue Cloud, Salesforce CPQ, or both?
- Both. Many orgs run Salesforce CPQ today and are weighing a move to Revenue Cloud. Part of the work is deciding whether, when and how to migrate — and designing so a later move stays possible even if now isn't the time.
- Can you take over an org another partner built?
- Yes — it's one of the most common starting points. The first step is an architecture review: what was built, what's safe to change, and what's quietly costing you. You get that in writing before committing to anything further.
- How long does an architecture engagement take?
- It depends on scope, which is why the first deliverable is a written scope with a fixed timeline and price. You know both before any build work starts.
- Will our own admins be able to maintain it afterwards?
- That's a design goal, not an afterthought. Catalog and pricing changes should be admin work; anything that genuinely needs a developer is documented, along with the reason why.
